Elm FieldDental Studio

Elm Field Dental Studio

Unhurried dentistry, explained in plain words.

A small neighbourhood practice where appointments are long enough to ask questions, treatment is only ever suggested when it is needed, and nervous patients are genuinely welcome.

Care we provide

Everyday dentistry, done carefully.

Most of what we do is quiet, preventive work — keeping small problems small. When something more is needed, you will hear the options before you hear a recommendation.

Check-ups & examinations

A full look at teeth, gums and soft tissues, with photographs so you can see what we see and how things change over time.

Hygiene & gum health

Scaling, polishing and practical advice on brushing and cleaning between teeth, tailored to your mouth rather than a leaflet.

Fillings & repairs

Tooth-coloured fillings and sensitive repair work, with as much of the natural tooth kept in place as possible.

Crowns & bridges

Restoring worn or broken teeth so they work comfortably again and sit naturally alongside everything else.

Whitening

Supervised home whitening with custom trays, discussed honestly — including whether it is likely to suit your teeth at all.

Care for nervous patients

Slower appointments, nothing done without warning, and the option to simply sit and talk first if that helps you get through the door.

Your first visit

Three steps, no surprises.

Knowing exactly what will happen is half of what makes a dental appointment bearable. Here is the whole of it.

  1. Tell us what you need

Send the booking form with a rough idea of what is bothering you. We reply by email with a time that fits and anything worth bringing along.

  2. A proper look

We talk through your history first, then examine gently and take photographs. If you would rather stop at any point, you say the word and we stop.

  3. A plan in writing

You leave knowing what is fine, what is worth watching and what needs doing, with costs and timings written down so you can decide at home.

The practice

Small on purpose.

Elm Field is a two-surgery practice, and we intend to keep it that way. A smaller list means you see the same familiar faces, appointments start close to the time they were booked, and nobody is ever moved through the day in a hurry.

  • The same team each time. Continuity matters more in dentistry than most people expect.
  • Prevention before intervention. If watching and waiting is the right answer, that is what we will say.
  • Quiet rooms. Daylight, soft sound and no waiting-room television.
  • Families welcome. Children are seen from their first tooth, mostly so the room stops being frightening early.

Questions

Things people ask before booking.

I have avoided the dentist for years. Is that a problem?

Not to us, and it is far more common than you might think. The first appointment is a look and a conversation — we will not lecture you, and nothing gets treated on that visit unless you ask for it.

Do you see children?

Yes, from their first tooth onwards. Early visits are mostly about counting teeth, riding the chair up and down and leaving in a good mood, so that later appointments feel ordinary.

What if something breaks or starts hurting suddenly?

Send the booking form and mark it urgent in the note. We hold space in each day for problems that cannot wait, and we will tell you honestly if you need to be seen somewhere faster.

How will I know what treatment costs?

Every plan is written down with the options and the cost of each before anything is booked in. If the plan changes partway through, you will hear about it before the next step, not afterwards.

What if I need to change my appointment?

Let us know as early as you reasonably can and we will find another time. Appointments here are long, so an empty slot is a genuinely useful thing to pass on to someone else.
